High School Sweethearts Planning a wedding out of state
Let’s rewind to the beginning of 2020, it was a chilly 36-degree day with some lite snowfall on Saturday, January 25th. The day where two were set to become one. Katelyn & Danny are high school sweethearts from Union City just south of Vicksburg. Their love story started when Katelyn was a freshman and Danny a junior and they shared fourteen years together before they made the decision to get engaged and start their forever together as husband and wife.
Fast-forward to many vacations and moves, they are now living in Buffalo, New York wanting to plan a wedding near their hometown in Michigan. Their families were helping them visit wedding venues in Michigan via skype that fit their vibe of romantic, classic, and industrial. Their families visited R&R and skyped with the bride during the tour and after a few emails, they were set to say “I Do” at R&R.
Katelyn stated that planning out-of-state was easy, and when they were in town they were able to join the monthly open houses at R&R to see the space, the included decor, and discuss the details of her big day. She explained that they loved having everything in one location and that the venue is a perfect balance of old and new, industrial, and glam.
VOWS:
Personal and heartfelt vows are a beautiful thing. The emotions and laughter that are shared between the couple in front of their closest family and friends are so sweet. During their vows you could feel their love, and truly hear their excitement of starting their future together. Katelyn shared that she has loved him since she was 15, that’s 5,475 days (half of her life!) but she knows that does not compare to what their future holds. Their personalized vows could not have been sweeter especially when a groom promises to always make his bride coffee in the morning and watch Jeopardy at night - I mean come on, that is love!
VIBE:
Their wedding was filled with beautiful personalized items and many pieces from R&R’s included decor closet. From including photos of them dating and their adventures throughout the years to an incredible display of wedding photos of family members.
They transformed the space into a breathtaking vintage glam, from clear balloons lining the ceremony aisle to lots and lots of candles and lanterns, it was gorgeous.
VENDORS:
The love that Danny and Katelyn share for each other is infectious, which you can clearly see through these adorable photos and their amazing wedding day video. This vintage-inspired-wedding was one for the books and took many dedicated and talented vendors to help create such a gorgeous day. The wedding florals were from Blushing Design. Hair and makeup was through Southern Roots Salon & Spa. The bride’s beautiful gown was from Bridal Chateau. An incredible meal was served by Millennium Events and Catering. Friends and family danced for hours thanks to the DJ from BlackDiamond Productions. Moments like these were captured by photographer Tessa Tillet Robbins Photography and the talented Ruby Marissa Photos recorded all the special wedding day moments via video.
